Freelance Exchange, a service by afaqs!, was launched with the idea of creating a platform for freelancers/ service providers and clients/buyers of those services to meet and transact business.

The process is simple. Clients post their assignments/projects on the site and freelancers respond according to the relevance of the assignment.  For this, freelancers need to register by paying a subscription fee while clients come on board for free.

However, over time we realized that the name Freelance Exchange might not be conveying the size of business that was being transacted on Freelance Exchange. The perception was that the site had only individual professionalsregistered as freelancers and the term assignments seemed to signify part-time jobs, or low-budget jobs. But that was not the case. We have freelancers ranging from individual professionals to groups of professionals that take up projects on a turnkey basis. Similarly our assignments/projects include high-end, high budget projects from the advertising, media and marketing fields.

So, we have changed to Plug into Projects. The idea is to convey the ease with which the site works. Almost like plugging in and playing. We have chosen ‘projects’ as it signifies assignments that are of a serious nature, are on a contract basis and can be very high-end, high budget ones.

To convey the message and add a fun element to it, the Plug Into Projects team decided to run a Colour the Logo contest. The wireframe of the logo is given and the participants have to fill in colours that they think are the actual colours of the logo. 3 winners will be awarded exciting gifts.
